STAQ Rings In The New Year With Record Speed!
Good afternoon STAQ family!
We hope you all had a great holiday season and new year- the kids have been busy training hard and their work has been paying off! With several meets now under our belts this holiday season, many kids crushed their old PRs and team records fell left and right. We are excited to see what 2025 brings if this is just the beginning!
The STAQ boys on the Corning Varsity team started off with an electric performance at the Elmira Invitational, helping to bring home a team victory and brought down a couple records in the process!
- Joey Crisco tied JP Sierzant's 50 free record!
- The 200 free relay team of Joey Crisco, JP Sierzant, Mark Hong, and Marvin Reimsnyder broke our team record with a nail-biter of a race
That same weekend, records were being smashed at the CNY Invitational at Ithaca College by the rest of our STAQ athletes-
- Alexys Nale in the 100 free, 50 back, 100 back,
- Sharon De Pedro in the 50 back, 100 breast, 100 IM
- Anna Sun in the 100 free, 200 free, 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 IM
- Tyler Nale in the 200 free, 50 fly, 200 IM
- Joey Crisco in the 50 back, 100 IM, 400 IM
Finally the STAQ varsity boys held another strong showing at the 2025 Invitational in the Glen, helping the team to a runner-up placing just shy of the very strong squad from Shenendehowa;
- The relay of Joey Crisco, Shawn De Pedro, JP Sierzant, and Marvin Reimsnyder reset the team record in the 200 medley relay
- Joey Crisco re-broke his 50 back, 100 breast, and 200 IM records
The Coaches are all very proud of the work the kids are putting in, and are excited to continue working with them as we begin the new year's training. We are very thankful for all the community we have here!
